JOB TITLE: Billing Manager
DEPARTMENT: IHS Administration
FLSA: Full-Time; Salary/Exempt
DURATION: OPEN UNTIL FILLED
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Billing Manager will oversee the entire Billing Department, including the preparation and billing of all third-party claims to appropriate payers timely and accurate within reimbursement guidelines. This individual will supervise a staff of 3-6 Billing Specialist. To include planning the billers’ schedules, monitoring output to ensure accuracy in coding, write-offs, billing charges, and the satisfaction of HIPPA, state and federal regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers’ guidelines and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update fee schedules, billing policies, and procedures based on frequently changing reimbursement guidelines and cross train staff in all duties.
- Maintain updated written billing procedures.
- Ensure that written front desk and coding policies and procedures are followed and updated to ensure adherence to HIPPA, Medicare, Medicaid, FQHC, HRSA, state and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Ensure that all claims, write-offs, and denials are recorded and processed in time for the month-end close.
- Provide the Accounting Manager with a monthly billing revenue, receivable accrual, and write-off report that ensures proper and accurate month-end close.
- Follow-up, investigate, and resubmit denied claims.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience (required), preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Care (FQHC). Good analytical and accounting skills, detail-oriented, and have a sense of personal responsibility for your work performance and a professional attitude. The ability to work independently and strict adherence to policies and procedures is a must.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: College degree, with prior experience or education in accounting and/or Medical Billing.
HIRING RANGE: $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 Annually
