Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. Positions are awake overnight shifts. The DSP will provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting. This role is crucial in promoting the well-being and independence of our clients while ensuring their safety and comfort.
Duties
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring that goals are met effectively.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Conduct regular assessments of vital signs and report any concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Facilitate social interactions and community engagement opportunities for individuals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including progress notes and incident reports.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in training sessions to stay current on best practices in patient care and first aid techniques.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with group home environments is beneficial.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe upon hire.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative in providing individual support.

- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
