Dixon Brass is looking for a Machine Tool Operator Trainee to join our team in Westmont, Illinois who is eager to learn, hardworking, and motivated to develop their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment!

As a Machine Tool Operator Trainee, you will learn how to operate multi-spindle screw machines while working with an experienced machinist. You will be given more responsibility as you follow through our screw machine training program. Under the guidance of experienced operators, you will learn how to set up, operate, and maintain screw machines while contributing to the production of high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Learn on the job: Receive hands-on training in screw machine operation and maintenance from experienced team members.
- Take initiative: Show dedication by actively seeking new tasks, asking questions, and working independently as your skills progress.
- Quality control: Learn how to measure and inspect parts for quality using tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Troubleshooting & maintenance: Assist with basic machine maintenance and gradually learn how to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Work ethic: Consistently adhere to safety guidelines, maintain a clean workspace, and show a strong commitment to meeting production goals.
- Grow within the company: Embrace opportunities for advancement and continuous learning as you gain experience and expertise.
Qualifications:
- A strong desire to learn and grow in the machining field.
- Hardworking attitude with the ability to take on challenges and push yourself to improve.
- Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Ability to take direction and work well with others while also developing independence.
- High school diploma or equivalent (any technical coursework or hands-on experience is a bonus, but not required).
- Reliability and a strong work ethic are a must!
- Any metal turning experience would be welcomed!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to learn and take on physical tasks as you progress.
