SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The family success coach will serve as a direct care staff in a residential substance abuse treatment facility that serves women and children. This position provides on-site family services, including crisis intervention, counseling, skill building and advocacy. This is 24 hours a day, seven days a week program.

Compensation: between $17.95 and $21.40 per hour (wage is based on total years of relevant experience)
Work Schedule: 25 hours per week, Thursday and Friday 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in social services, child development or related field required.
  • Experience with residential services preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • *Must be able to maintain a flexible, accessible, and responsive work schedule.
  • *Provide a range of concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the family’s values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances, and culture.
  • *Be aware of and respond appropriately to potential safety issues.
  • *Provide on-site education and skill building activities.
  • *Orients clients to program rules and addresses client non-compliance as necessary to create a safe and secure environment for other residents.
  • *Documents client activity, progress and needs per established record keeping procedure.
  • *Provide culturally and ethnically appropriate family services and intervention strategies.
  • *Utilize motivational enhancement and cognitive/behavioral strategies.
  • *Utilize a collaborative teaching approach.
  • *Use interventions with clients that are evidence based.
  • *Use effective strategies for engaging, defusing and de-escalating clients through collaborative problem-solving techniques.
  • *Assess ongoing support and service needs.
  • Solicit feedback and input from the family about all aspects of the intervention.
  • *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics, and other requirements.
  • Always displays a courteous and caring attitude to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • Develops personal and program related skills through participation in internal or external training opportunities including printed material and audio and/or video media.
  • *Creates, maintains, and shares as appropriate a dynamic self-care plan.
  • *Essential functions of this job are to be performed on company physical work site.
  • Performs other program related duties as assigned.
  • Abides by all specific program and agency procedures, policies and requirements.
