SUMMARY
HBK’s Principal – Quality Control is focused on enhancing audit quality and efficiency. To accomplish that goal, you will provide technical assistance, independent review, and ensure adherence of all laws and policies set forth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- CPA designation required.
- 8 years of public accounting experience required.
- Significant working knowledge of accounting standards (US GAAP required, special purpose frameworks such as cash, income tax basis, IFRS), professional practice standard (US GAAS and SSARS required, Government Auditing Standards, International Audit Standards), and be able to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Solid research and writing skills, excellent verbal communication and presentation skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and clients.
- Experience auditing employee benefit plans and/or Uniform Guidance is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent computer skills, communication skills, time management skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
- Previous experience with peer review and internal inspection processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume a leadership role in our quality management standard design and implementation.
- Oversee Quality Control team members to ensure they are appropriately assigned and engaged.
- Perform Quality Control review of financial statements, identify risk areas, and review judgments made by assurance team.
- Assist assurance teams in developing and applying high-level of technical skills and knowledge.
- Perform internal inspections of the Firm’s Quality Control System
- Participate in planning meetings and assist teams in designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality, then discussions with engagement team.
- Conduct independent research and apply industry standards.
- Proposing resolutions. Provide accounting guidance, best practices, and give examples to the client service teams.
- Attend meetings and trainings and assist in the design and presentation of firm assurance sessions.
- Assist with oversight and administration of the firm’s memberships and licensing functions.
- Maintaining the required CPE for firm and licensing standards
