Sales Engineer

Essential Functions:

• Assist the sales team with engineered conceptual drawings and define specifications
• Estimate and analyze production costs by working closely with plant managers
• Prepare cost estimate spreadsheets for medium to large bids
• Design and create engineering drawings for production as needed

Additional Responsibilities:

• Measure and reverse engineer weldments on the field
• Occasional travel is required (up to 10%)
• Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal and external).
• Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Company policies to eliminate and or reduce exposure to liability.
• Special projects or work as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications Guidelines

Experience/Training/Education:

Required:       Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Expertise in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, Proficient with Microsoft office and related software. Great opportunity for new grads!

Desired:          2 years of mechanical design experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Creative thinking to adapt diverse mechanisms and utilize them in different environments or industries
• Strong problem-solving skills: Ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action
• Understand manufacturing production processes, i.e. burn table, various CNC and manual machines, weld processes, assemblies
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills: Supporting multiple sales representatives with different time and work demands
• Strong visualization, mathematical and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and add value as a team member
• Customer oriented attitude by proactively taking action for resolution
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) knowledgeable a plus

Physical and Environmental Elements:

This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.  The position occasionally works in a factory environment with exposure to noise and machinery.  Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull; access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.  The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and may lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds.

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
