Opportunity Bank of Montana is adding to our outstanding team with a Business Relationship Officer. This position may be based from a branch in Billings, Bozeman, or Missoula. As our Business Relationship Officer, you will be responsible to develop, expand, and maintain quality relationships with business customers (including those customers' consumer needs) through referrals, business development and follow-up, customer call programs, community involvement, and exceptional service:
- Actively engage in deposit business development:
- Identify and pursue potential sources of new business and other strategies to meet established goals and directives specific to business customers including cash management and merchant services.
- Actively develop customer and prospect lists to market a broad range of bank products and services.
- Write proposals and respond to formal requests for proposals.
- Contribute to the overall profitability and bank strategy.
- Manage a deposit portfolio providing onboarding and ongoing relationship servicing to maintain goodwill and promote bank products to deepen banking relationships.
- Serve as a cash management, merchant services, and insured cash sweep expert:
- Work with customers to identify needs and offer business solutions.
- Be proficient at preparing cost-benefit analysis for customers pertaining to business products and services.
- Assist customers with the set-up and maintenance of cash management products, merchant services, corporate cards, and insured cash sweeps.
- Provide online banking support for all cash management products via phone and onsite.
- Complete initial ACH underwriting as required by bank policy.
- Complete ACH/annual cash management reviews as required by bank policy.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to loan officers and relationship bankers as needed.
- Work directly with loan officers as customer relationships are developed.
- Charged with assisting/completing the account opening process, including gathering required business and signer documentation and evaluating the documentation provided for accuracy and any red flags.
- Assess effectiveness of deposit growth efforts. Prepare sales spreadsheets, reports, and summaries for tracking business development strategies.
- Assist with competitive product and pricing analyses, analyze and monitor market trends, and assist with product line positioning.
- Maintain knowledge of banking products and services, as well as knowledge of the industries and market areas served.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
4-year college degree (accounting, business, finance, management or related) & 5 years of relevant experience - or equivalent combination of education & experience
Extensive knowledge of banking industry products, policies and procedures, bank operations, and bank compliance regulations
Education and Experience Preferences
General knowledge of lending principles
Advanced knowledge of treasury/cash management, merchant services, and or corporate card programs
Other Requirements
Frequent travel-must possess valid driver's license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record
