Opportunity Bank of Montana is adding to our outstanding team with a Loan Servicing Department Manager in Helena, Montana. The Loan Servicing Department Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Company's entire loan servicing functions, processes, and risk controls. Additionally, you will ensure loan accounting and data integrity and mitigation of operational risk in the loan accounting system for all business lines including but not limited to loan data input, maintenance, escrow administration, servicing, quality control, advance & payment processing, investor reporting, participation services and the highest level of customer service to both internal and external clients. Mortgage servicing is a key part of this department, but all types of loans and lines of business fall under this department.
- Oversee management, direction, and development of all loan servicing functions to ensure completeness and accuracy of tasks including but not limited to new loan setup, loan file maintenance, payment/payoff processing, loan accounting, investor reporting, quality control functions, and escrow administration for all business lines.
- Responsible for accurate reporting of loan related transactions and activities.
- Establish and monitor department policies and procedures. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and investor requirements to ensure the policies and procedures are updated, staff is trained and in compliance with the changes.
- Collaborate with Loan Servicing Managers/Supervisors to evaluate staffing, recruitment and ensure the department meet and follow proper procedures and investor guidelines.
- Promote positive working relationships across the organization with the highest level of customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Manage and oversee investor servicing contracts, all sold loans, and repurchase obligations.
- Periodically review loan reports, file maintenance, modifications/change in terms, escrow administration and processes to ensure appropriate oversight.
- Develop and implement new ideas, technology, and processes for automating services and tasks to improve efficiencies.
- Monitor vendor performance and relationships including but not limited to the core technology provider, tax service provider, statement provider, and insurance companies.
- Keep management apprised of any loan servicing system or compliance issues which could negatively impact the bank.
- Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with other departments as needed to address, investigate, and resolve loan servicing issues.
- Manage and/or facilitate loan servicing compliance exams, audits, and compliance-related inquiries, including responding to findings/exceptions.
- Assess and/or assist with problem resolution.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting processes.
- Train, manage, and coach loan servicing staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
4-year college degree (accounting, business, finance, management or related) and/or 5 years relevant experience - or equivalent combination of education & experience
Supervisory & leadership experience
Extensive knowledge of loan servicing related systems, software and providers, regulatory and compliance requirements and current related issues, and regulations
Extensive knowledge with Mortgage & Commercial/Ag investor and participation guidelines and requirements
Education and Experience Preferences
5 years leading and managing a loan servicing team
Experience with Fiserv Premier software

Salary : $73,500 - $103,000
