DETAILED SUMMARY
The HR Recruiting Coordinator spearheads and directs Opportunity Council’s comprehensive recruiting and onboarding program to attract strong candidates and orient newly hired employees to the agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- In close partnership with HR leadership, creates recruitment plans including marketing and advertising strategies; external campaigns and outreach; and communications with a focus on diversity.
- Implements recruiting plans in collaboration with hiring managers and based on understanding program specific recruitment and job requirement needs.
- Establish and utilize creative sourcing channels and techniques to actively source applicants for hard to fill, management and C suite positions.
- Creates and maintains partnerships and relationships with outside agencies, services, and resources with an eye on active recruitment.
- Oversees agency applicant tracking system; moves requisitions through the recruiting process, keeps all requisition and applicant data up to date and ensures accuracy.
- Collaborates with HR team to review, analyze, and streamline recruiting processes and practices.
- Supports HR leadership with designing and implementing the onboarding process, including new employment orientation (NEO).
- Updates internal and external recruitment webpages as needed to ensure accuracy.
- Develops and maintains a pre-approved interview question database for hiring managers.
- Revises and maintains documents and templates for all recruiting and onboarding needs.
- Provides compliance-based training and supporting documents to hiring managers and supervisors on the applicant tracking system, recruiting and onboarding process.
- Provides consultation for hiring managers and supervisors focused on securing candidates to fill vacancies.
- Works with hiring managers to develop, review, and revise work plans.
- Under oversight from HR leadership, reviews and approves offers of employment.
- Oversees onboarding process in collaboration with HR team, including facilitating all necessary paperwork, coordinating orientation dates with internal stakeholders, communicating with hiring managers and new hires, and ensuring new hires and departments are ready for start dates.
- Administers New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- Ensures all new hire and NEO documents are up to date and accurate, including updating document lists on HR server and electronic platforms.
- Ensures adherence and compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Analyzes and evaluates recruitment-related data analysis and reporting.
BILINGUAL POSITIONS ONLY:
Specialize in providing services to clients and families who speak a language other than English as a primary language. May occasionally be asked to support with translating/interpreting a language other than English to assist potential or current clients.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as backup for other cross-functional HR positions.
- Collaborates with HR team on centralized HR functions to provide services.
- Represents HR on agency committees as needed.
- Assists HR leadership with special projects.
- May attend local, regional, and out-of-state training and professional events.
- Other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Four-year degree or AA in relevant subject matter or year-for-year equivalent work experience.
- Experience as an HR Generalist or recruiter with advanced recruiting experience OR abilities required to perform essential functions of this position.
- Demonstrable experience with active candidate sourcing in the following fields: C-suite, education, social services, information technology, or construction.
- Demonstrable written communication skills with the ability to draft and edit work plans, job announcements, emails, and marketing materials.
- Experience in collaborative settings with a team-first work approach focused on desired outcomes.
- Independent thinker and innovator, able to review complex situations, problem-solve, and use good judgment and decision-making skills to reach positive outcomes in alignment with department and strategic programmatic goals.
- Daily user knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Teams/Zoom.
- Preferred experience with UKG’s HRIS and ATS systems
- Must have a WA State driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Driving agency vehicles is required for this position. Must have driving record that allows for coverage under Opportunity Council’s policy at time of hire.
ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE:
Remote Essential: This position is an essential employee who ensures the continuity of critical functions and business operations at Opportunity Council and will be expected to work remotely even if Opportunity Council is otherwise closed for services and operations due to weather, public health emergency, or similar event
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is generally performed in a fast–paced office environment with frequent interruptions and potential crisis situations. Local and regional travel is required and travel out-of-state may be required for conferences and other events. May occasionally be required to attend recruiting and tabling events during evenings and/or weekends.
