Summary
Responsible for providing oversight of all financial and accounting activities for Opportunity House, Inc., OH Corporation, and OH Residences. The Controller will be an integral part of the management team. They will provide finance updates to management and the board of directors and will be a valued member of strategy sessions and new initiative discussions. This role will work with all department leads and have ownership of all revenue and expense management functions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, residential and client funds, budgeting, and bank reconciliations.
Essential Functions
Accounting Duties
· Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including support and guidance for AP & AR specialists.
· Manage GL including creating journal entries, asset and liability reconciliations, run trial balance monthly.
· Manage and reconcile bank accounts and cash movement monthly.
· Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
· Oversee, design, and prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
FP & A Duties
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and Board reports. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
· Provide the Executive Director with requested revenue and expense information for budgeting.
· Prepare annual budget, manage budget information requests, completion of yearly budget workpapers, finalize and sign off on yearly budget workpapers.
Management Duties
· Ensure compliance with donor requirements (e.g. restricted funding).
· Develop and enforce policies and procedures for staff to use in budgeting and money management with clients, and to obtain government benefits to which clients are entitled.
· Report to board on all financial matters.
· Collaborate with management and department leads, focusing on strategy and new initiatives.
· Develop and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with law, regulations, and funding requirements.
· Maintain strong relationships across departments, providing financial support as needed.
· Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works mostly in an office environment that is quiet to moderately loud, depending on the work area. Some local, county, or state travel may be required, including overnight stays. Employee is required to sit, use hands, stand, stoop, walk, talk, and listen while performing duties. General office equipment including personal computers, scanners, copiers, faxes, desk- and smartphones, and software programs.

Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
· MBA and accounting experience in the field preferred.
· Five years or more of related experience required.
· Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
