Chemical Plant Mechanical Technician
OpSource has partnered with a local chemical company located in Inman, SC.
Pay for the position :
22.76-$27.35
Shifts for the position :
This position is 12 hours, 4 days on 4 days off. It is swing shift so rotates between 1
7 : 45am-7 : 45pm) and 3
shift (7 : 45pm-7 : 45am). Please note that weekends and holidays may be required.
Basic Responsibilities :
Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment, tools, machines, and buildings.
Analyze and solve mechanical problems and assist manufacturing personnel on process-related problems.
Performs preventative maintenance and establishes new PM activities as needed
Involvement in installation of machinery, machine moves and plant rearrangements.
Understands, follows, and implements all safety-related standards and practices.
Document all work in a CMMS with feedback to planning and scheduling.
Continuous process improvement implementation with respect to Lean Manufacturing principles.
Train other Engineering Services associates, in one-on-one or group environments as needed.
Work directly with Planning & Scheduling team to assist in creation and improvement of job plans.
Lead small teams on complex maintenance and repair activities.
Basic Qualifications for Mechanic
High School Diploma or GED
One of the following :
Associate or Technical degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or similar
A minimum of two (2) years of mechanical and industrial equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military or production environment
Experience with Microsoft Office suite applications, creating and editing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, on-call, and holidays.
Experience reading and following control scheme, electrical and maintenance schematics / blueprints.
Willing and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in hot or cold weather conditions.
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and / or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
Willing and able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
Willing and able to follow facial hair guidelines for respirator usage.
Understanding of working knowledge of a wide range of industrial equipment, including pumps, bearings, mechanical seals, steam traps, steam heaters, safety relief devices, agitators, conveyers, air compressors, HVAC systems, heat exchangers, cooling towers, fire protection systems, and industrial scales
Proficiency in reading and understanding of blueprints, P&ID and equipment specification documents.
Basic proficiency in aerial lifts, rigging, and hoists; to include hoist maintenance and inspection.
Associate or Technical degree or higher in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or similar
A minimum of three (3) years of mechanical and industrial equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military or production environment
OSHA 10-hour for General Industry
NFPA 70E certified.
Proficiency with machinery alignment, including laser alignment.
Proficiency with vibration analysis and machinery lubrication analysis and handling
