What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Fitter - Industrial Construction position at OpSource Staffing?
We are currently seeking Experienced Pipe Fitters!
You will plan, install, and maintain piping systems in industrial settings. The Pipe Fitter will be responsible for reviewing blueprints, and planning, installing, and maintaining piping systems and related equipment. To be successful as a Pipe Fitter you should have ample experience in welding and installing pipe systems according to specifications. Ultimately, a top Pipe Fitter has excellent mechanical skills and a good understanding of the requirements and precautions necessary for working with pipes conveying different materials.
Pay & Benefits :
26hr to $29hr (Based on Experience)

Responsibilities :
Selects the type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
Inspects the worksite to determine the presence of obstructions.
Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
Cuts pipe using a hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer, chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine.
Thread pipe using threading machine.
Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machines.
Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold the pipe.
Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
Tests piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
Performs minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications :
High school diploma / GED.
Trade school education or apprenticeship.
Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter. (If not NCCER certified MUST pass a pipe fitter test)
Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to prioritize and maintain strong attention to detail.
