Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Coordinator. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain and organize patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Organize and maintain patient medical records in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
2. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all patient information.
3. Create and update patient records, including medical history, test results, treatment plans, and other pertinent information.
4. Retrieve and deliver patient records as requested by healthcare providers and administrative staff.
5. Ensure proper storage and filing of physical and electronic medical records.
6. Assist with data entry and documentation tasks as needed.
7. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws governing the handling of patient information.
8. Provide support to healthcare providers and staff by locating and retrieving relevant medical records in a timely manner.
9. Assist with audits and quality assurance activities related to medical records management.
10. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and accurate record-keeping processes.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
3. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
