Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Part-Time IT Helpdesk Technician who will serve as the first point of contact for technical support within our organization. This role is ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience in IT support. You will handle Tier 1 and Tier 2 support requests, assist with user and hardware provisioning, and support various IT projects. Job Responsibilities:
User Provisioning and Deprovisioning:
- Set up and configure user accounts in Google Workspace, JumpCloud, and other SaaS applications.
- Assist with managing access controls and permissions across various platforms.
- Support onboarding new employees by preparing workstations, provisioning accounts, and conducting IT orientation sessions.
- Aid in offboarding processes, including account deactivation and asset retrieval.
Helpdesk Support:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to employees in-person or via phone, email, or Slack.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for Windows and macOS systems.
- Log and track support requests using the Freshservice ticketing system, ensuring timely responses.
Hardware Provisioning and Asset Management:
- Assist in preparing and deploying laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals for employees.
- Help maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets using inventory management tools.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely as a member of the IT team to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical staff.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues to help improve systems and processes.
Compliance and Security:
- Adhere to company security policies and procedures in all of the above responsibilities.
- Assist in implementing security measures, such as enforcing password policies and educating users on security best practices.
- Report any security incidents or vulnerabilities promptly.
Requirements:
- Mindset Over Skillset: We prioritize a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and problem-solving mindset over existing technical skills.
- 0-6 months of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role; prior experience is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and SaaS applications is beneficial.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
