The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for providing procurement, set-up, maintenance, and reporting details for all tools and fixtures in support of Machine Shop functions.

What You’ll Do:
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for providing procurement, set-up, maintenance, and reporting details for all tools and fixtures in support of Machine Shop functions.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews MRP and related work schedules
- Issues, receives, and stores tools and fixtures in support of Machinists and Operators
- Keeps inventory of all tools and requests purchases of cutting tools, inserts and shop supplies as necessary.
- Delivery to the shop floor.
- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and fixtures.
- Able to ensure fixtures and tools are checked in and out of tool crib and maintains an accurate record system.
- Prepares kits and presets tools to help improve standardization
- Re-sharpen cutting tools
- Provide monthly report - top tools, high users, monthly expense and total tool inventory.
- Continued education and training including, but not limited to: ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, teamwork, and Statistical Process Control.
- Understanding of CNC machine setup, tool identification and machine fixturing
- Knowledge of Mills, Routers, Lathes and general machine shop practices.
- Previous experience using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Working knowledge and understanding of cutting tools, tool holder assembly, insets geometry’ and grades
- Experience with tool setters (Speroni)
- Familiar with shop MRP/inventory systems.
- Good computer skills and ability to query, monitor, and input MRP system data.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineered drawings in decimal and fractional inch units.
- Ability to read and interpret Bill of Materials.
- Able to maintain non-durable and inspect tooling.
- Able to maintain and inspect functional tooling.
- 2-3 yrs of machining experience
