Bookkeeper - Shopify POS and QB Online (P/T 1099)

Overview

Optical Underground is a four-generation retail eyewear business in San Francisco's Hayes Valley. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper with Shopify POS and QB Online experience to join us 1-2 days per week on-site. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial reports as we relaunch our ecommerce site. This position is essential for supporting our financial operations and contributing to the overall success of the organization. This is a 1099 contractor position.

Duties

• Reconcile Shopify POS and online sales.
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy in financial statements.
• Maintain Accounts Payable (bills, vendor payments)
• Maintain QB Online records
• Light clerical/admin support (filing, vendor communications, etc.)
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights into financial performance.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing.
• Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have Shopify and Shopify POS experience
• QB Online experience
• Prior experience with retail and ecommerce bookkeeping
• Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles, including corporate accounting practices.
• Familiarity with account analysis, tax processes, and financial report writing.
• Proficiency in Shopify Financial Analytics, Better Reports, or similar
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
