What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Claims Specialist (F/T) - Remote position at Optim?
Optim Health System is seeking a full time Clinic Claims Specialist. This is a remote position.
Position Title: Clinic Claims Specialist
Primary Duties:
1. Review scheduling documentation for accuracy and authorizations
2. Review patient chart documentation for services rendered
3. Creates claims from encounter documentation for assigned clinic locations
4. Review claims prior to submission: update ICD-10 coding, add modifiers, verify procedure orders, verify insurance authorizations, etc. to support claim being billed
5. Process claims scrubs as they are generated to ensure clean claims
6. Work with the Practice Manager and providers to ensure appropriate claim charge lag is maintained
7. Verify insurance card images uploaded to EMR
8. Participates in trainings and educational activities
9. Prioritize work received and complete in a timely manner
10. Assist other personnel as assigned and as workload permits, function as relief for other personnel, when necessary, to facilitate breaks, lunches, and time off.
11. Performs miscellaneous other work duties and assignments as required
12. Maintains strictest confidentiality
