The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatments.
- Perform physical examinations as necessary and document findings in medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients with co-occurring medical conditions.
- Engage in memory care activities for patients requiring specialized support.
- Assist with IV insertion when indicated, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Support patients with disabilities by adapting treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Participate in outpatient services, providing follow-up care and support for ongoing mental health needs.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent certification.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with psychiatric specialization.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities, is preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting physical examinations and understanding laboratory results.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Ability to lift patients or equipment as necessary during treatment procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in patient care.
