What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Medical Assistant position at Optimal Care Pediatrics?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs nursing procedures under supervision of doctor.
2. Vaccine administration to all agents, pulling from the correct vaccine stock.
3. Assists doctor in examinations including scribing when needed.
4. Gives instructions to patients as instructed by doctor.
5. Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration.
6. Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or provider including spirometry testing, allergy testing, concussion testing.
7. Assists in lab under the supervision of provider and for which training has been given.
8. Assist with front desk duties, phone calls when needed.
9. Pull in labs from Quest daily.
10. Prep send out labs, including urine culture, culture swabs, H.pylori- notifying Quest/Lab Corp.
11. Prepares 680 forms for all WCC.
12. Monitoring and ordering office supplies.
13. Monitoring vaccine freezer temps and updating logs when needed.
14. Order approved list of supplies from McKesson and check shipment against order.
15. Vaccine inventory management including registering new vaccine shipments, monitoring vaccine stocks, reconciling of physical stocks with balance in EHR, identifying vaccine orders that need to be placed based on practice needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possesses willingness to accept guidance and to perform repetitive tasks.
2. Loyal in matters relating to the office.
3. Has awareness of the need for discretion and keeping confident matters relating to the patients and their problems.
4. Previously demonstrated performance in a medical environment.
PERSONAL QUALITIES:
1. Mentally alert, in good physical health.
2. Patient, courteous and tactful with neat and friendly appearance.
3. Ability to communicate and relate well with providers and other office staff.
4. Must be able to follow direction well from providers, nurse and manager.
OTHER SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
1. As required by provider, individual is expected to attend some classes that educate and improve medical service
2. Must be willing to serve emergency situations during off hours if directed by provider. May be requested to substitute for other office responsibilities of receptionist. Any other assigned duties by provider or manager.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the provider regarding medical problems. Reports to manager/provider regarding business matters

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
