What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Release Engineer Transmissions position at Optimal Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Design and release responsible for key components for automatic transmissions and torque converters
- Lead and ensure key components design best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvements are followed and integrated into product design release process
- Lead technical infrastructure lead for key components, documentation, specifications, requirements definitions and drawing signoffs for key supplier and tier 1,2,3 components
- Lead and support warranty and quality related topics
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in propulsion systems, automatic transmissions or related field
- 5 years experience with design and release of torque converter assemblies, torque converter dampers and components
- Demonstrate significant virtual analysis and CAE design experience
- Understanding of system engineering within automatic transmissions and electric drives.
- Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams
Onsite Anywhere from 3-5 days per week.
