Optimus is working with a fast-growing, globally connected commodities trading firm that’s rebuilding and scaling its risk function, they’re looking for a sharp, technically minded Risk Analyst to join the team. You'll work closely with traders, finance, and operations, helping shape a proactive risk and control culture.
This is a high-impact role where you'll own:
- Daily P&L reconciliation and reporting for trading desks
- Position management and resolution of trade discrepancies
- Forward curve and pricing validation
- Automation of reporting and reconciliation tools (Excel/VBA, Python, SQL)
- Supporting ETRM improvements and data integrity checks
Who should apply?
- 3–8 years of product control/risk/middle office experience in an energy commodity trading environment
- Strong technical skills: Excel/VBA, SQL, Python
- Familiar with ETRMs (e.g., SAP, Endur, RightAngle)
- Detail-oriented, curious, and ready to take ownership
