Desktop Support Engineer
A key Optimus client is currently seeking Desktop support specialist to join their team located here in Houston! This is a permanent role located onsite and in the office 5 days a week. Per our client's specifications, candidates are required to be US Citizens, Green Card holders, or independently authorized to work in the US. We are unable to provide H-1B visa sponsorship/transfer at this time. Local Houston candidates only please.
The position will play a key role in two primary areas. First, desktop support including assisting on network/infrastructure, user/stakeholder support, desk setup, and conference room support. Second, system administration for various business applications including ISO Certificate Management and various Application provisioning/administration.
Responsibilities:
- First point of contact to users in Houston to support, troubleshoot, and resolve all IT Service Desk related issues. Secondary support across rest of locations.
- Support for network, telephony, computers, printers, conference room audio/video and approved software.
- Troubleshooting hardware/software issues on servers, workstations, laptops, and personal technology devices.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory for all Houston based IT infrastructure/equipment/devices.
- Act as system administration within various business critical applications to support and drive business value via onboarding/offboarding process, L1 support and triage of issues, and overall customer support for stakeholders. This will include management of ISO certificate/permission process for the various ISO markets we participate in.
- Establish best in class customer service with a strong focus on operational excellence ensuring support services are delivered and appropriate service levels achieved.
Knowledge/Experience:
- 4-5 years of experience in desktop support role for an Energy/Oil & Gas company.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience supporting an oil/gas/power trading environment in either a desktop support or application support role.
- Preferred experience with managing a Microsoft technology stack environment in a system administration capacity. SQL Exchange AD, Entra, Azure, Defender, SSO
- Knowledgeable with business applications such as ETRM or Bid to Bill preferred.
- Energy/power industry experience/background preferred.
- Ability to interact with stakeholders such as commercial operations, risk, and settlements/accounting department and even C-suite level personnel.
- Will have managed 3rd party vendors
