Fundamentals Analyst
A key Optimus gas/power trading client located in Austin, TX is looking for a Natural Gas Fundamentals Analyst to bring talent and new ideas to their team. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining fundamental models to develop profitable trading strategies while working in a financially stable "start up" environment where creativity, honesty, and fun are highly valued.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quantitative models related to North American natural gas fundamentals, including supply-demand models.
- Create and update production and demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with traders and software developers to build tools and analyses that support and enhance algorithmic trading strategies.
- Conduct back-testing and validation of algorithmic trading strategies to ensure model reliability and accuracy before deployment.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of data inputs for trading models.
- Manage and maintain thorough documentation to provide complete coverage of model functionalities and interfaces.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in supply/demand analysis and modeling for North American natural gas.
- Strong experience with statistical weather normalization techniques and modeling of various components of natural gas supply and demand.
- Proficiency in programming, preferably in Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
