Collections Agent

*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Debt Collector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, negotiating payment arrangements, and ensuring timely collection of debts. This role requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. *Duties* - Contact clients via phone, email, or mail to collect outstanding debts and negotiate payment plans. - Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and resolve issues related to payments. - Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions in the system. - Review account history and perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy. - Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and revenue cycle management when dealing with medical collections. - Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth account processing and resolution. - Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism during negotiations. *Experience* - Proven experience in debt collection or a similar role is preferred. - Strong mathematical skills for account analysis and reconciliation. - Familiarity with medical collection processes is a plus. - Knowledge of coding, debits, credits, and accounts payable is beneficial. - Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations effectively. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
