Canada, KY Full Time
POSTED ON 12/30/2024
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/29/2025

As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will be part of the Database Tools User Experience team focusing on all Cloud Database User Interfaces. You will help guide the creation of new user experiences as well as identify and correct issues in our existing product. On any given day, you may brainstorm with development or product teams, create user flows, produce wireframes and high-fidelity visual designs, build a prototype, or present to stakeholders. In all things, you will be an advocate for our users.

At Oracle, we’re committed to creating state-of-the-art experiences that connect, empower and delight our users. We need a thoughtful, talented, multi-faceted user experience designer who can enable technology users by delivering high quality design in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with Oracle’s larger design organization, guide development teams towards solid user experiences, and extend the design language we use across all of our products.

We’re looking for...

A positive and resilient personality

You work well with others and build relationships across teams.
You independently track down the answers you need and are not afraid to reach out to new people.
You inspire other team members to follow your design vision.
You collaborate with designers, researchers, engineers, product managers, executives, and other stakeholders.
You embrace feedback and desire continuous improvement.

Top-notch Design Skills

You exhibit a growth mindset, can self-teach, and have a willingness to own problems.
You embrace ambiguity and bring clarity to complex problems.
You consider research, accessibility, interaction design, visual design, typography, human factors, and more.
You explore a variety of design options before arriving at a solution.
You create, evaluate, and modify prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

Design Leadership

You can lead a conversation with designers, engineers, and product managers. You balance technical and delivery constraints while creating accessible, elegant, and engaging user interfaces.
You work to understand complex requirements and meet strict deadlines.

You routinely conduct design reviews with other designers and stakeholders.
You have excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, interpersonal,

and analytical skills.

You advocate for our users.

You get things done.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design and usability principles in the investigation of technical problems. You may evaluate product usability and produce specifications describing user needs.

Our work is non-routine and very complex. It involves the application of advanced technical and business skills. It will require you to be a leading individual contributor as well as a team member who provides direction and mentorship to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically 5 years of software UX or related experience required.
