The Process Engineering Manager and their team are responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Extrusion and Converting departments regarding their processing needs. This role involves maintaining master setups that specify and standardize process parameters, tooling, raw materials, and material logistics for all manufactured products. The Process Engineering Manager will facilitate the development of procedures and collaborate with Production Department Managers to implement essential training and coordinate material logistics. Furthermore, the Process Engineering Manager is responsible for tracking, monitoring, and applying process improvements aimed at enhancing yield and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safety training requirements must be up to date for all team members under the manager’s responsibility.
- Follow prescribed safety policies in accordance with Orafol’s Safety program; use required PPE as specified for each Job Function.
- Maintain Master-Setups for all manufacturing tooling, parameters, and materials, for consistent processing of standard and R&D products.
- Maintain and update all BOM's and Routings for Finished Good Items in the GP ERP system
- Support Extrusion & Converting Production: Evaluate and enhance manufacturing methods and process procedures, troubleshoot issues, and support “historically difficult” products.
- Collaborate with Product Development during R&D trials.
- Coordinate with Production to manage tooling and material drying logistics according to the schedule.
- Review completed production documentation and verify conformance to standard operating parameters. Investigate deviations from
- standards and implement updates as needed.
- Update Unit of Measure conversions in GP for products that do not conform to actual weights.
- Track yields and material reconciliations for all materials.
- Set, monitor, evaluate goals, and drive continuous improvement for the Process Engineering Team.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate work with each of the following disciplines: Capabilities Development, Product Development, Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing.
- Report relevant operating data metrics in WL Objectives Intranet file for ISO compliance.
- Establish methods to improve tracking of efficiencies, downtime, and yields for Production processes.
- Complete special projects and assignments that are not specific to this outline but as required and directed by supervisor.
- Perform duties and responsibilities with a sense of purpose, professionalism and attention to detail.
Provide fair and consistent leadership in mentoring and developing the Process Engineering team members.

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering or equivalent.
Work Experience
- 5 Years Plastics Processing environment, functioning in a Process Management role.
- Prior management experience is required.
- Film or Sheet Extrusion experience preferred.
- Good practical manufacturing knowledge.
- Hands-on role, to interface with all levels in the Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to develop and implement procedures and training support for new equipment / processes.
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office programs, ERP, and other analytical tools.
