POSITION: Marketing & Promotions Intern
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Communications
STATUS: Internship, Unpaid, Onsite
SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in Marketing. Intern will observe, learn and develop skills necessary to explore career opportunities within the chosen field. Individual may qualify for college credit if allowed by their college/university. This position is an unpaid internship.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Intern will learn and be exposed to:
- Inner workings of a major non-profit sports and event organization
- Development of plans for advertising, marketing communications, grass roots promotions, in-game entertainment, event management, game day activations and more
- Detailed and hands-on operations of a marketing department
- Creation of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness of the Orange Bowl Committee and its events
- Marketing research projects and creation of event scripts
- Execution of in-game promotions and entertainment
- Coordination of talent and on-stage promotions for the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest
- Development and execution of community promotions and initiatives such as the Creative Art Contest (Grades K-12)
- Logistics associated with researching, ordering and managing inventory of promotional giveaway items
- Operation of mascot appearances; wear OBIE costume and participate in promotional activities as requested
- Participation in the coordination of Orange Bowl promotions such as:
- Orange Bowl Festival Events
- Capital One Orange Bowl
- Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest
- Capital One Orange Bowl Halftime Show
- Orange Bowl Basketball Classic
- Orange Bowl Kickoff Party
- Orange Bowl Coaches Luncheon
- Orange Bowl Cheer Championships
- Orange Bowl Creative Art Contest
- Orange Bowl 5K
- and more

PREREQUISITES
- Pursuing a degree and/or career in Marketing, Communications, Sport Management or other related fields
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop and/or Illustrator
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
Note: Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
