Job Summary
The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Librarian to oversee the daily operations of the library at the Orange County Juvenile Hall. This vital role includes managing a wide variety of library materials, supporting educational programs, and providing specialized resources for students in the ACCESS programs. As part of the Alternative Education Services Division, you will play a key role in fostering a love for learning and reading among students, contributing to their academic and personal growth.
This position emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and innovation. You will work closely with students, educators, and community partners to promote literacy, maintain an organized and accessible library, and provide specialized support to meet the unique needs of incarcerated youth.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience : Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
- Equivalent to a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Library Science or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of responsible educational experience.
