What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Committee Member (Action Officer) position at Orange County Fire Authority?
This Equipment Committee (Action Officer) recruitment is an Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) internal recruitment. Only applications from current, qualified non-probationary OCFA Fire Battalion Chiefs, Fire Captains, Fire Apparatus Engineers, and Firefighters will be accepted.
This recruitment will be used to fill in one (1) Equipment Committee Member vacancy. This position requires committee members to attend quarterly or as needed meetings (backfill/overtime approved). The current need is one Action Officer. Candidates must not be currently on probation.
- Research and development of new equipment
- Writing/Revising SOPs
- Possess an understanding of OCFA policies and various MOUs
- Oversee Sub-Committees responsible for trialing potential new equipment
- Assisting with writing RFI and RFPs
- Be a voting member on potential new equipment
- Assist with special projects as needed
- OCFA non-probationary Fire Battalion Chief, non-probationary Fire Captain, non-probationary Fire Apparatus Engineer or non-probationary Firefighter
HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer skills with fluency in the Windows environment
- Strong written communication skills
