The Facilities Management Division is seeking two highly qualified Senior Operations Technicians for our East District Maintenance Office (East of I4 to Fort Christmas) and our West District Maintenance Office located (West of I-4/Disney World area).
The West District Senior Operations Technician position exercises independent judgment and technical expertise in performing highly skilled, journeyman level work maintaining, installing, altering, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
The East District Senior Operations Technician position provides skilled work in the maintaining, installing, altering, and the repairing of plumbing components relating to potable water, wastewater, and septic systems. This position is essential to the maintenance district as it performs a wide range of duties in the plumbing field which includes the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and water distribution systems that require the services of a journeyman level plumber.

General Functions
This is a responsible technical position performing highly skilled work. Based on area of assignment, performs duties in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general building maintenance, locksmith, lighting, audio, or other electrical systems.
Based on assignment, performs the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of complex electrical systems, equipment and fixtures. Provides expertise for wiring HVAC systems, repairing and maintaining motors, pumps, generators, switchgears and replacing light fixtures and ballasts. Provides multi-trade technical maintenance support for building systems; i.e. HVAC, plumbing, etc. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient and effective operations. Performs installation, alteration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of hard key access and master keying designs. This position may act as a crew leader to Operations Technician I-III, locksmith and other staff.
Work requires independent judgment and is performed under the direction of assigned supervisor.
Representative Duties (Electrician)
Graduation from high school or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in electrical repair or plumbing; or equivalent combination of Trade College certification and five (5) years of experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
Will Be Required To Perform Mandatory Emergency Standby Duty.

- Performs general building inspections to ensure electronic equipment or systems are meeting critical operation factors.
- Checks emergency power supply for life safety systems; operates systems on emergency power and periodically assist in testing emergency power source under load.
- Using a variety of tools, test and calibration equipment applies accepted maintenance, service, and repair procedures to maintain or return item to proper operation conditions.
- Checks and maintains assigned facility, equipment, or system for preventive maintenance and critical operation factors.
- Consults with trade specific employees and/or supervisor on special maintenance and repair problems.
- Performs service and repairs on a wide variety of equipment.
- Multi-trade assignments and responsibilities based on daily operational needs.
- Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.
- Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold-water lines.
- Repairs and replaces steam to hot water exchangers for major building heating systems and pools.
- Repairs and replaces pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes.
- Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.
- Installs, tests, and repairs all sizes of backflow prevention devices.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Interprets and applies mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
