Orange County Utilities (OCU) provides water resources and solid waste recovery services to protect and enrich the lives of the citizens and guests of Orange County Florida. The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities’ customers. The Water Division operates four regional water supply facilities and eight satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day.

Job Description
General Functions
Supervises all activities performed by the work unit, plans and controls activities and resources to meet operational and budgetary objectives. This is highly responsible work requiring interaction with vendors, contractors, engineering, local regulatory officials as well as managers and supervisors within the Water Division. Work requires considerable independent judgment with minimal supervision.
Representative Duties/Assignments
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree and five years of experience maintenance and/or operation of a municipal or industrial facility; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Based on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain the appropriate certification or license.
Maintains a valid driver's license
Preferences
Proficient in CMMS software, such as Maximo
Proven experience in utilities and/or water production.

Representative Duties/Assignments
- Plans and controls activities to ensure proper facility operation
- Manages special projects related to maintenance of facilities
- Supervise employees who maintain and operate sections
- Monitors employee performance and assists with Performance Evaluations
- Develops/Reviews SOPs and Work Plans
- Manages vendor contracts, including chemical suppliers
- Manages training program for the operators
- Assist managers with different tasks
- Available after hours for emergencies
- Coordinates distribution activities with Field Services
- Reviews specifications and drawing associated with new facility construction or upgrades
- Assist SCADA technicians in tuning facility equipment
- Develops schedules for field and SCADA operators
- Participates in the recruitment process
