About the Role :

As an Auditor I, TPP Valuations, your main responsibility will be to conduct thorough and accurate valuations of tangible personal property (TPP) for tax assessment purposes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the fair and equitable distribution of tax burdens by assessing the value of assets such as machinery, equipment, and furniture. Your work will directly impact the tax revenue collected by the organization and contribute to the overall financial stability of the community. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in the valuation process.

Salary : Starting at $52,530 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Must have two (2) years of auditing, and tangible personal property experience (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex data.
  • Proficiency in using valuation software and tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation.
  • Experience in conducting valuations for tax assessment purposes.
  • Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard valuation methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple valuation projects simultaneously.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Conduct detailed inspections and assessments of tangible personal property to determine its fair market value for tax assessment purposes.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data, including property records, sales transactions, and market trends, to support the valuation process.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive valuation reports that adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as property owners, tax assessors, and legal professionals, to address valuation-related inquiries and resolve disputes.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and valuation methodologies to ensure compliance and maintain the highest level of expertise in the field.

    In this role, you will utilize your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately assess the value of tangible personal property. Attention to detail is crucial as you will be working with complex data and preparing comprehensive valuation reports. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with various stakeholders and addressing valuation-related inquiries. Additionally, staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, as well as industry-standard valuation methodologies, will ensure your compliance and expertise in the field.
