Orangeburg Country Club is seeking an experienced Events & Catering Manager. The Events & Catering Manager will initiate event sales and coordinate private and club events. The Events & Catering Manager must be able to work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
Principle duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate all private events
- Generate quotes, contracts, and informational packets for potential clients
- Work with the accounting department to ensure accurate/timely payments are received
- Plan events under the direction of the F&B Director to ensure execution and profitability.
- Attend the weekly Food and Beverage staff and BEO meetings
- Consult with the Kitchen Manager about food production and pricing for all events
- Oversee banquet set up and staffing for all functions
- Involvement in Bridal Shows and community engagements
- Become proficient in Club Reserve catering program
- Initiate and follow-up sales leads
- Expand client base and create relationships with event vendors to grow private event calendar
- Meet with clients to provide club staff with detailed floor plan, event set-up and staffing needs
- Yearly market analysis to assist with annual budgets
- Capture photos and videos of club and member events for social media
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- At least 2-5 years of direct experience in event planning and execution preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication as well as outstanding customer service skills
- Organization and attention to detail is required
- Good event management skills are necessary
- Willing to be a team player to enhance the club for members, clients, and staff
- Must be comfortable answering phone calls, speaking with clients and club members face-to-face
- Able to independently resolve event questions which may arise
- Experience with all social media platforms
