What are the responsibilities and job description for the Catering Manager position at Chick-fil-A?
As a Catering Manager, here are the Key Results we are looking for:
Result 1: Effectively create, execute, and fulfill catering orders with excellence
Fulfill every catering order with the Chick-fil-A standard of operational excellence: taste, order accuracy, timeliness, attentive & courteous service. Responsibilities include:
- Effectively create and execute sales strategies that effectively reach the sales goals
- Build a monthly and quarterly sales plan to include but not limited to: sales goal for pickup catering, sales goal for delivery catering, ADPs, marketing, giveaways, visiting existing accounts, visiting potential clients to build relationships, attending community events as needed, etc.
- Consult marketing resources to build sales plan for catering sales
- Work with the Marketing Manager to create and implement any necessary marketing resources
- Once a catering order has been received:
- Coordinate with BOH staff and the Throughput Director to ensure correct inventory and appropriate BOH leadership for timely execution
- Coordinate with the kitchen team for smooth operations and support
- Input catering orders accurately into the system through the Catering Management tool or, when needed, directly into the POS. Ensure all order directions are input according to Pathway procedures
- Complete all set-up and preparation for each catering order: boxes, utensils, sauces, bags, etc., according to Pathway procedures
- Have the TMS bags ready for kitchen to load
- Execute cleaning schedule for TMS, and repair broken TMS equipment
- Deliver catering orders, or direct team members to execute delivery according to Pathway procedures
- Ensure all pickup orders are carried out to the guest’s car
- Ensure all deliveries arrive 5 minutes early to their destination
- Put all catering-related items away upon return to the store
- Tender the catering payment prior to delivery
- Create and refine any systems or processes to improve our catering service in conjunction with the Operations Director and the Director of Sales and Brand Growth
- Communicate with the Director of Financial Stewardship prior to authorizing POs or TBCs
- CC the Director of Financial Stewardship in all emails regarding any payment information
- Responsible for answering the catering phone during non-peak hours and calling guests back after peak hours
Measurable Goals:
- 100% accuracy for all catering orders, Pickup and Delivery
- Achieve monthly catering sales goal set in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Brand Growth
- 100% of accounts are paid by end of month
- All phone calls are answered or called back within 1 business day

- Look for opportunities to deliver 2nd Mile Service, and ensure the team is coached to deliver second mile service to catering guests
- Resolve guest or account concerns, complaints, or issues promptly, competently, and courteously
