Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business with four to ten years experience in HR; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong computer skills using Microsoft office products, especially Word and Excel. Requires general accounting skills.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and administering policies relating to all phases of human resources activity - benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment and employment law compliance. Payroll processing.
Duties
1. Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
2. Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
3. Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
4. Responds to employee relation issues, such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and Title VII violations. Responds to all EEOC and/or lawsuits.
5. Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
6. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
7. Administers the company’s drug screening program.
8. Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
9. Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.
10. Administers benefits programs such as health, vision, cafeteria plan, retirement, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, FMLA and maintains employee records.
11. Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier. Completes annual OSHA 300 Report.
12. Coordinates monthly safety trainings.
13. Files annual EEO-1 report. Maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
14. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
15. Represents organization at human resources-related hearings and investigations, including unemployment.
16. Prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the human resources policies and procedures manual.
17. Responsible for employee recruitment, including advertisement and assuring compliance with all employment laws.
18. Ensures that all new hire processes are complete before start date, including E-Verify.
19. Maintains human resources information system records and compiles reports from the database.
20. Responsible for new employee orientation and on-going staff training.
21. Provides employment verification.
22. Responsible for completing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as required.
23. Responsible for preparing, updating, executing, auditing and filing all contracts and bids for the Executive Director.
24. Process bi-weekly payroll.
25. Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proficiency in HR software systems such as Sage, or similar platforms.
