ASL Interpreter
Washington, DC
Looking for Part-Time and Full time employees.
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality ASL-spoken English interpretation in a timely manner.
- Maintain adherence to the RID Code of Professional Conduct:
- Support managing the ASL interpreting schedule and reports to various customers
- Mentor and review work of novice interpreters
- Services will be rendered in a highly technical environment as part of a contract team supporting NAVSEA at the Washington Navy Yard.
- Support will be delivered as a mix of in-person and virtually, with potential for domestic and foreign travel.
- Looking for full-time or part-time
- BA/BS Degree in ASL Interpretation
- 5 years experience as a currently RID Certified interpreter working in a fast paced, technical settings.
- Strong voicing skills
- Experience with solving difficult, complex ethical problems involving consideration of multiple issues and job areas
- US Citizen with Secret Security Clearance
- MA/MS Degree in ASL Interpretation
- 5 years of working in a Business/Government setting with highly complex technical jargon
