Orbit, located in North Salt Lake, UT (10 minutes north of downtown Salt Lake City), is looking for a full-time Regional Sales Manager (preferrably based in Colorado). A Day in the Life of the Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager manages and directs sales initiatives to achieve sales and profit goals within the Colorado/Utah region. They are also responsible for driving sales growth within their sales area as well as through the Area Sales/Account Managers or Independent Sales Agencies by developing positive performance of these managers with a focus on achieving results. In addition, the Regional Sales Manager will also be responsible for communication of market conditions and key customer performance.

What are the requirements for this position?

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in external sales in the Green Industry
  • Ability to develop new sales leads and business opportunities with minimal guidance
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Moderate travel throughout Rocky Mountain area or beyond is required

Are there any preferred qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • Based in Colorado
  • Experience selling in the Commercial Office Property (BOMA, IFMA, IREM), HOA Industry (CAI), Commercial Landscape/Nursery (CLCA, ALCA, NALP, IA, ISA) or associated distributors / manufacturers

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships with distributors, contractors, home builders, irrigation designers, and landscape architect and identify new channel partners throughout assigned sales region, building sales plans to ensure success with these partners
  • Responsible for the strategic annual sales and marketing plans and results within a defined sales region based on geographical territory or assigned accounts.
  • Regularly review and provide interpretation of goals, objectives, and standards for operations to resolve problems and makes recommendations regarding policies, pathways, and procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes, and practices for quality and effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Act as an expert in the functions, benefits, and application and methods of selling ETwater and associated brand products 
  • Maintain a regular budget report for the region
  • Significantly drive demand for ETwater products, achieving annual sales and profitability targets
  • Analyze the market in relation to market share, current opportunities, and key accounts and implements a strategic plan to reach sales targets and increase market share
  • Attend and manage ETwater activity at distributor open houses and trade show events
  • Develop and participate in contractor events, distributor events, and industry tradeshows
  • Assist marketing in the identification and development of new and existing product needs
  • Report results regularly to the National Sales Manager with additional special reports including annual sales plan, sales activity and results, forecasting, budget preparation, and review
  • Responsible for key distributor and contractor account management
  • Ensure that all customer service levels are met
  • Account Management Duties and Responsibilities
    • Provide or facilitate product support for existing customers
    • Provide or facilitate field service to existing customer base in assigned territory
    • Provide or facilitate training on ETwater products as part of sales/account management duties
