Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise line cooks' work to ensure timely task completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure that food is prepared according to designated recipes and meets quality standards.
- Maintain sanitation requirements, including temperature control, storage procedures, product rotation, and food handling practices.
- Control waste and manage portion sizes to optimize food costs.
- Monitor food inventories and ensure appropriate levels are maintained.
- Execute daily side work with enthusiasm and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working within various kitchen stations, including fry, plancha, and expediter.
- Assist in additional tasks and duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of previous kitchen experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish & English
- 3 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Possession of a NYC Food Handlers Permit.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, culinary techniques, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
