What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Fabrication Manager position at Orbus Visual Communications?

The Metal Fabrication Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the metal fabrication shop, including, but not limited to:
- Production: Ensuring products meet customer specifications and quality expectations, and that the shop stays on schedule and within budget
- Staff: Manage staff, including welders, fabricators, and shop supervisors
- Safety: Ensuring safety procedures are adhered to, and that employees are properly trained to operate equipment
- Inventory: Managing inventory of aluminum tubes, extrusions and parts
- Scheduling: Planning and establishing work schedules, assignments, and production sequences
- Communication: Interpreting specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures
- Maintenance: Managing preventative maintenance for equipment
- Hiring: Participating in interviewing, hiring, and training new employees
- Performance: Reviewing employee performance and making compensation recommendations
- Continuance Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improvement in current processes, products and equipment. Staying informed on the latest technological advancements in equipment
Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory position or 3 years’ experience in a managerial position, preferably in a metal fabrication shop or manufacturing setting
· Experience in managing TIG welders or actual TIG welding experience
· Experience in metal fabrication, operation of CNC and manual machines
· Experience on tube bending
· Good Math skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must pass a post-offer drug screen and background check
Knowledge of CAD/CAM programming

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
