What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medication Aide position at Orchard Park?
Orchard Park Will train you for your HCA and help you with the skills test. this is a 70 hour course manadated by the state of Washington. Taught in house here at Orchard Park. there will be a year end Bouns paid for hours worked after one year of employment. Paid 1st check in Jan of the following year. you will need to have either a HCA or a NAR to be able to pass medications. Nurse Delagation and Focus on Dibetes is also requried.
Duties and Responsibilities: The employee must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonabIe accommodations. Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
- Passes medications and gives treatments according to physicians orders and in accordance with facility policy.
- Required to give shift repo rt on status of residents.
- Required to document in the resident records.
- Responsible for notifying charge nurse of medications needing to be ref illed .
- Assures personal and staff compliance to residents’ rights.
- Responsib for maintaining a clean and organized medication cart and medication room.
- May be required to assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, and other activities of daily living.
- May be required to assist with psychosocial groups and or activities.
- May be required to develop and maintain accurate accounting of all resident personal property for assigned unit. Identify property and keep inventory sheet current.
- May be required to pass ice.
- May be required to perform duties as set forth on Certified Nurse Aide job description as needed .
- Monitors personal and staff compliance to all State and federal requirements including but not limited to blood borne pathog ens, hazardous materials, infection control, and fire safety.
- Monitors personal and staff compliance to resident's rig hts.
Physical activity requirements: Employees must be aware that during the normal, routine performances of the essential functions, some of the folbwing body movements may occur naturally although they may not be a requirement of the job . The employee is required to use assistance (for example: transfer/gait belt, mechanical lifts, or request staff assistance) when attempting to assist residents or attempting to lift or carry objects over 25 lbs.
