ABOUT THIS ROLE
Message Lab @ Orchestra is seeking a Vice President, Strategy to take a leading role in designing, delivering and continuously innovating insights-driven digital communications strategies for our clients.
As the Vice President, Strategy, you will own the strategic design of large-scale cross-industry projects, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research to uncover a client's "Story-Market Fit." This involves aligning an organization's strengths and brand messages with its audience's worldview and identifying opportunities or white space in the market
Role location: This role is fully remote (within the United States).
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
As a Vice President, Strategy on our ML@O team, you will…
- Lead client engagements, presenting findings and recommendations to senior business leaders with clarity and confidence
- Play an instrumental role in evolving and developing Orchestra's proprietary strategic frameworks, ensuring they remain cutting-edge and effective
- Partner with internal teams to support business development efforts, from crafting proposals to participating in high-stakes pitch meetings
- Serve as a thought leader and collaborator shaping Orchestra's approach to editorial strategy and client service excellence
- Act as the strategic leader for key client accounts, developing and driving comprehensive programs that align with overarching business goals. Ensure strategies are executed effectively and evolve in response to market shifts and performance data
- Be audience-centric and data-driven in your approach, integrating qualitative insights (e.g., interviews, focus groups, audience research) and quantitative data (e.g., surveys, search/social/earned analytics and channel performance) to strategically position programs that resonate with target audiences and meet client goals
- Manage and lead cross-functional and cross-agency teams to craft and implement effective strategies that integrate qualitative and quantitative insights, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment among stakeholders
- Shape and guide upfront project strategies and plans, leading client intake, discovery sessions and strategic framing
- Architect and refine content and digital communications ecosystems, designing holistic strategies that drive engagement, align with business objectives and seamlessly integrate across channels (e.g., earned, owned and shared)
- Drive high-stakes client presentations, conveying strategic findings, recommendations and roadmaps to executive stakeholders ensuring alignment and buy-in from leadership teams
- Continuously evolve and expand strategic frameworks, ensuring ML@O remains at the forefront of insights-driven content strategy. Introduce innovative methodologies that improve discovery, strategy and execution processes
- Champion the capabilities of strategy and insights, working across teams to highlight the value of measurement, editorial analysis and experimentation, while serving as a key voice in expanding ML@O's expertise and impact
Essential skills:
- 10 years of experience developing digital marketing strategies or editorial publishing programs with experience executing strategic and tactical approaches to reach audiences across channels
- Agency experience in an editorial role at a media publication preferred
- Strong editorial background with an understanding of how to develop content that resonates with audiences (not just drives sales)
- Experience building content strategies for internal or external clients with the ability to align strategic plans across owned publishing, email marketing, SEO, organic social, paid media and earned media
- Ability to analyze data aligned with client objectives to assess the effectiveness of strategic recommendations and program outcomes
- Strong presentation skills

WORKING AT ORCHESTRA
Compensation philosophy: Orchestra offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $130,000-$145,000
Vice Presidents are eligible for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
