Summary
The Equipment Specialist is responsible for special projects, refurbishment, installation, and removal of equipment throughout the state. This position will provide maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of machinery at BottleDrop and retail establishments. This position performs hands-on equipment maintenance and repair work while consistently demonstrating safe and efficient work practices with a positive and professional attitude and demeanor.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Repair and overhaul compaction and Reverse Vending equipment.
- Work with Field Service management and engineer on special projects to modify equipment to improve safety and efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance work on all redemption centers and store location equipment as scheduled using various hand/power tools.
- Weld, cut, and fabricate solutions and repairs from metal stock.
- Follow troubleshooting logic to determine issues with non-functioning machines.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures utilizing diagnostic tests of electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, and mechanical processes.
- Prep and install compaction and Reverse Vending Equipment.
- Adhere to OSHA Safety standards and OBRC policies.
Education/Experience
- 3-5 years fabricating and designing solutions in an industrial environment, including installation and removal of industrial equipment.
- minimum of 5 years experience with industrial mechanics, welding, and hydraulic systems.
Requirements Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities
- Working knowledge of all OBRC field service equipment
- Proven experience prioritizing projects and tasks and making changes quickly and easily.
- Previous experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle.
- Experience fabricating plastics and metal with multiple types of tools (welders, torches, grinders, presses, heating elements)
- Experience creating templates for fabrication.
- Advanced electrical and mechanical skills and knowledge around gears, pulleys, chains, and electronic controls
- Ability to think creatively and problem solve independently.
- Devises solutions which meet company and state safety standards
- A current drivers license and acceptable driving history is required.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including travel on short notice.
- Regular, dependable, in-person attendance

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds for extended periods of time throughout the day.
