About The Job – Your Role
You will operate under the general supervision of the ODOC Inspector General, an Assistant Director-level executive manager, providing confidential administrative support to the Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and Assistant Inspectors General. You will support the Executive Team (ET) in establishing strategic priorities, ensuring operational accountability, and administering agency programs and operations. Your responsibilities include coordinating internal and external communications and representing the agency to stakeholders, including the public, legislature, and media.
You will apply relevant statutes, regulations, and guidelines to ensure compliance and efficiency, consulting with the Inspector General as needed to clarify expectations and address complex issues. You will handle highly sensitive and confidential tasks, facilitate communication across functional units, and oversee short- and long-term goal development, performance planning, and strategic initiatives.
This role involves daily interaction with ODOC staff and the public, as well as periodic engagement with other agencies, the legislature, and external stakeholders. Occasionally, the Executive Assistant represents ODOC on committees or workgroups.
In this role you will act as a lead worker within the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) support team, you will oversee three Office Specialists, assigning work, coordinating tasks, managing workloads, and providing leadership to ensure efficient operations.
This position is management services and may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of staff-level experience providing administrative support to management.
The experience must include technical or analytical duties in the management of program goals and objectives; performing program or project planning; preparing, monitoring, or controlling budgets; or performing research and providing analytical information and/or recommendations used in management decision making.
OR
A Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Public Administration or a closely related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.
