- Representation of state agencies in consumer and business bankruptcy cases.
- Participation in national chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, including mega cases.
- Adversary proceedings, including nondischargeability actions and preference avoidance.
- Contested case proceedings, including objections to confirmation, motions to dismiss, claims disallowance, automatic stay litigation, and discharge injunction proceedings.
- State court receiverships.
- Judicial and nonjudicial foreclosures.
- Secured transactions and statutory lien analysis.
- Advice and litigation in complex creditor-rights matters.
- Complex civil litigation, including commercial, environmental, breach of contract and wildfire litigation.
Required
- Active membership in good standing with the Oregon State Bar by the time of appointment.
- At least five (5) years of experience representing clients in bankruptcy cases and independently managing a bankruptcy caseload.
- Civil litigation experience.
- Possess superior analytical, advocacy, research, verbal communication, and writing skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Client counseling skills.
- Collaborative work history with lawyers and non-lawyers.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and an inclusive working environment where diverse individual experiences and perspectives are valued and supported.
- Candidates with experience working on both consumer and business bankruptcy cases are preferred.
- First chair trial experience is preferred.
- Commercial litigation experience.
- Receivership experience.
