Job Description

Exciting Opportunity: Work Remotely with Us!

Are you ready to revolutionize the way you work? Our team is excited to announce that we’re offering a unique position eligible for remote work!

Imagine having the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home and say goodbye to long commutes and hello to a better work-life balance!

If you're a driven and passionate individual looking for a role that offers freedom, creativity, and the chance to work with like-minded professionals, this opportunity is for you!

The CCB is hiring for a Full-Time, permanent, Education Program Assistant. The classification for this position is an Administrative Specialist 2.

Who Are We….

The Construction Contractors Board (CCB) is actively working toward a future where economic disparities do not dictate outcomes for Oregonians from underrepresented or marginalized communities. As a community partner, our organization is committed to identifying and dismantling racial inequities while providing equity-based support.

Enhancing opportunities for building and advancing racial equity is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. The CCB demonstrates unwavering commitment to all Oregonians, regardless of their social, cultural, racial, or other status. We believe that the values and principles embedded in our programs provide a solid framework for building upon past successes and continuing this work on an everyday basis.

Our mission...

The CCB was created in 1971 with the primary purpose of protecting consumers who do business with construction contractors. The CCB ensures that, to the extent possible, contractors comply with state laws and regulations regarding contracting, construction liens, construction, licensing, employment, workers’ compensation insurance, safety, paying taxes, obtaining permits, and following building codes.

The Consumer Education and Outreach section provides helpful information to consumers on how to select a licensed contractor, how to avoid common mistakes when hiring a contractor, and how to respond should a dispute arise. The goal is to educate consumers to act knowledgably and confidently when engaging with contractors. Knowledgeable consumers reward qualified and ethical contractors, reinforcing the market for contractors who focus on the consumer. The agency provides consumer outreach and education by maintaining an interactive website with consumer information and history on all 45,000 contractors. The Education and Outreach section also offers continuing education for contractors, processes contractor continuing education credits, produces printed materials and instructional videos for contractors and consumers, issues news releases, and, in most years, attends statewide construction trade shows.

This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME).

Here’s What You Will Do

Education Program Assistant

This includes understanding and communicating processes involved with pre-license education and continuing education, troubleshooting problems encountered by contractors and/or education providers, and entering contractor continuing education credits. You will interact with CCB licensees as well as the public, on the phone and occasionally in person. Also, in this position you have the responsibility for auditing contractors for compliance with continuing education requirements as well assist/support assigned Public Record Request. This position also provides logistical support for CCB classes that are provided statewide to contractors.
