The Role

Are you an experienced strategist and project manager? Join us as our transportation data section strategy & implementation program manager in our Transportation Data Section. In this role, you will act as a project manager for select projects and initiatives for the Transparency, Accountability and Performance (TAP) Program and the Section. As a member of the Transportation Data Section management team, you will provide guidance to achieve the strategic goals of our section and lead project initiatives from ideation to completion. A Day In The Life

  • Initiate, plan, support, monitor and execute projects using industry-standard project management methods.
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous project initiatives of varying sizes, durations and focuses.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Transportation Data Section business teams, the Information Systems Branch staff or contractors assigned to large information technology and data projects.
  • Ensure that all projects comply with applicable policies, standards, established priorities, processes and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress against the coordinated initiative plans.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams and partners to develop the Section's technical and business strategies.
  • Work together with leadership throughout all relevant phases of strategy development and project delivery.
  • Analyze legislative bills, assess their fiscal impact and create legislative implementation plans.
  • Present work plans and program successes to various internal and external partners.
  • Manage web content and web applications to share transparency and accountability information with colleagues, the Legislature and the public.
  • Work in an office environment 1-2 days a week with hybrid work options available - Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification.

OR;

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, finance, political science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.

  • A current project management professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering technology or data projects on time, on budget and within scope.
  • Demonstrated experience building program workplans and managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic plans around technology and data modernization.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing technology and data projects within State of Oregon.
  • Demonstrated experience building partner relationships and sustaining partner engagement.
