We are seeking a skilled and dependable Handyman with experience in rental property maintenance and repairs to join our dynamic and growing team.

Position Summary:

The Handyman – Rental Property Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing maintenance and repair needs of residential rental units. This position requires a well-rounded professional with proven experience in a variety of trades including drywall, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and general repairs. The ideal candidate will work independently, maintain high standards of quality, and represent Oregon Deschutes Painting LLC with professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance and repair work for residential rental properties, including:
• Drywall patching and texture matching
• Interior and exterior painting and touch-ups
• Minor plumbing (leaky faucets, toilet replacements)
• Electrical troubleshooting (switches, outlets, fixtures)
• Door, cabinet, and hardware repairs
• Caulking, weatherproofing, and sealing
• Fence, deck, and minor structural repairs
• Conduct move-in/move-out maintenance and inspections
• Communicate effectively with project managers, tenants, and property owners
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards
• Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly
• Provide excellent customer service on-site and build lasting client relationships

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in handyman or general maintenance work (preferably with rental properties)
• Solid knowledge of construction methods, tools, and materials
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation with the ability to transport tools and materials
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Professional appearance and excellent communication skills
• Ability to pass a background check and authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (highly desirable)
• Experience working with property management companies
• Basic knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations
• EPA Lead-Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders throughout the workday
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, in variable weather conditions
