JOB SUMMARY:
IT Mac OS Device and AV Manager provides leadership and support for the technology program at OES. This includes providing direct help to teachers, students, administrative staff, and other divisional staff in their use of technology resources along with essential support for technology campus-wide, managing our fleet of Mac OS devices for all divisions. In addition, this position will assist in the management and operation of major infrastructure hardware and software systems. The successful IT Mac OS Device and AV Manager will take a positive, problem-solving, service-oriented approach to computer support needs. They should have a demonstrated knowledge of both the Macintosh, iOS, and Windows platforms. The specialist should be able to work independently and lead teams. They should also have a good framework or be willing to develop an understanding of how independent schools operate. There is an expectation that this position will get continual training and development of their technical skills to stay current.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The IT Mac OS Device and AV Manager provides leadership and support for the technology program at OES. This includes providing direct help to teachers, students, administrative staff, and other divisional staff in their use of technology resources along with essential support for the technology equipment campus-wide.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technology Use and Users
- Team leader and collaborator supporting the Technology Department and divisional Educational Technology Coordinators in their efforts to provide excellent educational technology services and environments
- Developing, and adhering to, shared department documentation internal tech department on processes and procedures
- Maintain and support all installed AV equipment campus-wide including support during their use in presentations and events.
- Performing help-desk functions promptly through face-to-face interactions with students, teachers, administrative staff, and divisional support staff and responding to requests through our ticketing system to resolve issues.
- Attending and contributing to Technology department meetings.
Technology Equipment:
- Leading and collaborating with the team to manage technology assets using MDM (JAMF) through their life-cycle: receiving, tagging, registering, preparing, distributing, installing, and retiring technology equipment.
- Collaborates with the tech team on decision-making on significant technology infrastructure.
- Organizing and maintaining our technology equipment workspace.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with devices by following a department-approved procedure
- Performing maintenance/service and handling repair dispatch for technology equipment, including laptops, desktops, tablets, touch devices, printers, scanners, projectors, Apple TVs, and other equipment associated with the learning or support environment.
- Help develop testing processes with small groups of systems before large-scale rollouts to validate viability.
- Participate in all employee training and activities.
Serve as backup to System Admin:
- Wi-Fi maintenance and troubleshooting
- Network Analysis and Configuration
- Active Directory maintenance and optimization
- Phone systems
- Campus Security systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years of prior experience with Help Desk or User Support functions
- Demonstrated ability to work as a positive and constructive member of a team in a work environment
- Able to work independently to resolve various computer issues.
- This Is not a remote position
- Office hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience maintaining and supporting Apple computers
- Prior experience imaging computers for deployment or redeployment
- Prior experience working in a school setting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Mobility sufficient to move about the campus, to include climbing stairs
- Ability to work from a ladder
- Ability to sit at a computer and keyboard for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on an occasional basis
- Ability to see, hear, and speak clearly to interact with students, parents, and groups of individuals
