Description
The primary purpose of the People and Culture Program Assistant is to provide support for human relations functions. The People and Culture Program Assistant supports the workplace needs related to talent acquisition, onboarding, retention, and employee inclusion and belonging. This is an onsite position, with the ability to work from home one day per week.
TALENT ACQUISITION AND ONBOARDING – 40%
- Assist with talent acquisition functions as needed, including coordinating and facilitating interviews, preparing offer letters and conducting background checks.
- Process new hire paperwork, ensuring that the required documents have been submitted and that all paperwork has been completed properly, including I-9 verifications.
- Input new hires into the HRIS and ensure all employee data is current and accurate.
- Support with benefits enrollment.
- Conduct new employee orientations, including preparing and distributing new hire packets.
- Initiate office equipment requests and provide needed supplies for new employees.
- Attend job fairs, hiring events and other talent acquisition opportunities, and represent the organization’s culture and values.
ORGANIZATIONAL AND EXECUTIVE SUPPORT – 40%
- Provide executive support for assigned organizational and Board meetings which may include taking and distributing meeting notes and materials, scheduling meetings, and synthesizing information into reports.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for organizational activities, events, projects, etc.
- Actively participate in the Wellness Committee and support its initiatives.
- Develop and implement staff recognition opportunities.
- Update organizational charts and other documents, such as strategic plans as needed.
HRIS – 20%
- Update HRIS with employment status changes, including changes in supervisors, transfers and promotions.
- Conduct file audits and run reports as needed.
- Respond to employee questions.
- Track Leaves of Absences.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse audiences, specifically racial, ethnic, gender expression, socioeconomic, education, spiritual and alternative cultural backgrounds.
- Must be able to pass preemployment requirements, which includes a criminal and abuse background check
- Must be able to work with multiple projects within tight timelines and deadlines
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Comprehensive knowledge of, or ability to use, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Meets)
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred
