Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Research Assistant (RA) position for the COB at Oregon State University (OSU).
The RA will work an average of 8 hours a week under the supervision of OSU Marketing faculty Aimee Huff to collect, catalogue, and analyze data for a research project on advertising and consumer culture. The project is expected to run January 2025 to June 2025, with a possibility to extend beyond June 2025.
Position Duties
The RA will be responsible for collecting, cataloguing, and analyzing data in the faculty member's data set.
This work includes reviewing media (eg, print magazines, websites) to identify ads that meet certain criteria; scanning or downloading the ad images; naming and cataloging the image files; uploading the image files to the data analysis software; coding the image files.
The work can be completed remotely on the RA's computer. The RA will also need to meet regularly with the faculty advisor, either in-person or online

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student : Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
